With a magnificent score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is a rock opera that made its Broadway debut in 1971. The biblical musical, sung-through with no spoken dialogue, is loosely based on the Gospels’ accounts of the last week of Jesus’s life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion. Thanks to Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre for sharing these photos of their magnificent production.
